Solution

The correct option is A Assertion and reason both are correct and reason is a correct explanation of assertion.
When the light ray travels from fisherman to the eye of diver, it suffers refraction at air-water interface.

When light ray enter from air to water, it will bend towards normal (N). Thus for diver it will appear to come from further away (A).
Hence, OA>OA or fisherman appears taller to diver.
Hence, (a) is the correct option.
Why this question?
Always pay attention that when light ray bends towards normal, the refracted ray appears as if coming from a larger distance.
Application: Extend the refracted ray in backward direction to obtain virtual image.
