Communistic socialism’ (also known as ‘state socialism’) which involves the nationalization of all means of production and distribution and the abolition of private property. Hence statement 2 is also incorrect.
Democratic socialism, on the other hand, holds faith in a ‘mixed economy’ where both public and private sectors co-exist side by side.
The new economic policy (1991) of liberalization, privatization and globalization has, however, diluted the socialist credentials of the Indian State. In recent decades, government policy of disinvestment in Public sector enterprises is also an example of this declining trend. Hence statement 3 is correct.
