Construct a quadrilateral $$ABCD$$ with $$AB=5.5cm, BC=3.5cm,CD=4cm,AD=5cm$$ and $$\angle {A}={45}^{o}$$


Solution

Steps for construction:

Step 1: Draw a line segment $$ AB =5.5$$ cm.                                  
Step 2: Construct an angle$$\ \angle XAB=45^\circ$$ at $$A$$.  
Step 3: On line $$AX$$ make a line segment $$AD=5$$ cm.
Step 4: With $$B$$ as centre and radius $$= 3.5$$ cm draw an arc.
Step 5: With $$D$$ as center and radius $$= 5$$ cm draw an arc to cut the previous arc at $$C$$.
Step 6: join $$BC$$ and $$C  D$$

Hence, ABCD is a required quadrilateral.
