Solution

The correct option is C Black soil
Black soil is made up of clayey material, and hence, it is extremely fine. It has a high moisture-holding capacity. It is rich in soil nutrients, such as calcium carbonate, magnesium, potash and lime, but poor in phosphoric contents. It cracks when the weather gets hot, and this helps in proper aeration of the soil. Hence, this makes it suitable for cultivating cotton and is also known as black cotton soil.
