Question

Dear sir /Ma'am
I have a problem in solving this question
Q. A farmer has enough food to feed 20 animals in his cattle for 6 days how long would the food last if there were 10 more animals in his cattle? And please also explain how they are inversely proportional.

Solution

See 2 quantities are inversely proportional when Increase in one leads to decrease in another. Here if no. of cattle increases, food will last fewer days as there are more people to eat. So no. of cattle and no. of days are inversely proportional.

for 20 cattle food will last 6 days
for 1 cattle food will last 6*20=120 days
for 30 cattle food will last 120/30=4 days
