Solution

The correct option is C Zona glomerata
Zona glomerata or glomerulosa is a superficial layer of adrenal cortex of adrenal gland which secretes aldosterone. It is a mineralocorticoid hormone which maintains electrolyte balance in the body. It stimulates the absorption of sodium from glomerular filtrate and promotes excretion of potassium. Therefore, it deficiency can cause increased potassium (K+) ions and decreased sodium ions (Na+) concentration in the blood. Aldosterone also participates in RAAS (Renin-angiotensin-aldosterone-system).
So, the correct answer is 'Zona glomerata'.
