Matter : Anything which occupies space and has mass is called matter.

Characteristics of matter:

• Particles of a matter are very small and have space between them.
• Particles of matter are continuously moving.
• Particles of matter attract each other.

Light is not considered as matter because it is a form of energy. It neither occupies space nor does it have any mass.
