  1. Work is a measure of energy that results by applying a force on the body which displaces the body.
  2. Work done is given by the formula W=Fscosθ where F= force applied, s= displacement, θ = Angle between the force and displacement.
  3. The SI unit of work is Joule J.
  4. Since work is the product of force and displacement, it only has magnitude and has no association with the direction. Hence, it is a scalar quantity.
