Solution:
  • On 15th August 1947, the Nawab of Junagadh wrote an instrument of accession to join Pakistan. Pakistan gave its consent.​
  • People of Junagadh who were living in Mumbai established ‘Aarzi Hakumat' in Mumbai.​
  • Mangrol and Manavadar declared their wish to join the Union of India. Indian soldiers and navy who were stationed to protect Manavadar and Mangrol besieged the Junagadh state. ​The Nawab of Junagadh fled to Pakistan.​
  • On 9th November 1947, referendum of the people of Junagadh was obtained.​ Thus, Junagadh’s merger with the Union of India was made possible due to Sardar Patel’s efforts and will of people of Junagadh.​​
