Given data:

For the circuit shown in the figure:

Formula used:

I=RV, where I is the current, R is the Resistor, Vis the voltage

Step 2:

The given figure is modified as follows,

Start from point A and go on in a clockwise direction applying K.V.L.

5I+3I+2I+4I+10+3I-5=0

I=-517A (1)

The positive sign shows that current I in the circuit is in an anticlockwise direction.

The positive sign shows that current I in the circuit is in an anticlockwise direction ι=-517A

Step 3:

Calculation of the potential difference across battery E1 and resistor R1=5Ω

V=IR

V=5×517=2517V

The current in the circuit is ι=-517A and the potential difference across battery E1 and resistor R1 is 2517V.
