$\frac{36}{x + 4} - \frac{36}{x - 4} = 6$

$36 (x - 4) - 36 (x + 4) = 6 (x + 4) (x - 4)$

$36 x - 144 - 36 x - 144 = 6 x^{2} - 96$

$- 288 = 6 x^{2} - 96$

$6 x^{2} = - 192$

$x^{2} = - 32$

$x = \sqrt{- 32}, x = - \sqrt{- 32}$

$∴ x = 4 \sqrt{2} i, x = - 4 \sqrt{2} i$
