No,they used the means of fraud ,corruption,oppression to achieve their wicked interests in India and with time made a firm hold on the whole country with their power.The doctrine of lapse,the subsidiary alliance,the monopoly of trade ,the drain of the resources where some of the evil means they adopted to make their foothold strong in India.
