Dino had $24 and James had $36.

Each of them deposited equal amount of money in minimum number of banks.

Their deposit in each bank should be maximum and equal.

The maximum possible amount with is a factor to both the principal amount is the GCD of 24,36.

24=2×2×2×3
36=2×2×3×3
GCD is 2×2×3=12
So, Each of them need to deposit $12 in each bank.

Dino deposited in $24÷12=2 banks.
James deposited in $36÷12=3 banks.
