Question

Discuss with your teacher what does a suitable gene means, in the context of DNA vaccines.

Open in App
Solution

DNA vaccines carry the gene that encodes a specific antigen. When introduced into a live host, the antigen encoded by gene induces immune response and thereby makes the host cell immune to a particular antigen. For the purpose, DNA vaccines should carry “suitable gene” that encode the antigen from pathogen capable of induction of desired immune response in the host cell.
