Question

Do non green plants have chlorophyll?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student, Non- green plants do not contain chlorophyll. Plants which do not have chlorophyll have other pigments like xanthophylls, carotenoids dominant. Green plants are always autotrophic. Non green plants may be autotrophic or heterotrophic (e.g, parasitic plant like Cuscuta). They can have modes of nutrition other than producing their own food. This is how plant without chlorophyll survive. Thanks and regards
