The correct option is A $2 kg 200 g$
Quantity of apples Donald kept for himself
$= Total quantity of apples purchased - quantity of apples packed for friends$

Now, quantity of apples packed for friends
$= 4 kg 100 g + 3 kg 300 g$

To add these quantities, we separately add grams and kilograms.
$∴$ Quantity of apples packed for friends $= 7 kg 400 g$

Hence, quantity of apples Donald kept for himself
$= 9 kg 600 g - 7 kg 400 g$

$∴$ Quantity of apples Donald kept for himself
$= 2 kg 200 g$
