Step 1: Construct the perpendicular bisector of XY
XY, a line segment of a length 10.3 cm is drawn
Taking radius greater than half the length of XY, place the needle at X and draw a circle.
Place the needle at Y and without changing the radius, cut two arcs C and D on the circle.
Join the points C and D which is the perpendicular bisector of XY.
Step 2 : Examine whether PX=PY
Take a point P on the perpendicular bisector CD.
Using ruler, measure lengths PX and PY.
They will be equal as the point P lies on the perpendicular bisector of XY.
Hence, PX = PY.
