The reciprocal of x + y.

Solution

Given, $x = \frac{- 4}{9}, y = \frac{5}{12} a n d z = \frac{7}{18}$
Here, $x + y = \frac{- 4}{9} + \frac{5}{12} = \frac{- 4 \times 4 + 5 \times 3}{36} = - \frac{1}{36}$ [ $∵$ LCM of 12 and 9 = 36]
$∴$ Reciprocal of $(x + y) = \frac{1}{\frac{- 1}{36}} = - 36$
