The sale of electric bulbs on different days of a week is shown below.
Observe the pictograph and answer the following question:
If one big carton can hold 9 bulbs. How may cartons were needed in the given week?

Number of bulbs sold on Monday = $6\times 2=12$.

Number of bulbs sold on Tuesday = $8\times 2=16$.

Number of bulbs sold on Wednesday = $4\times 2=8$.

Number of bulbs sold on Thursday = $5\times 2=10$.

Number of bulbs sold on Friday = $7\times 2=14$.

Number of bulbs sold on Saturday = $4\times 2=8$.

Number of bulbs sold on Sunday = $9\times 2=18$.

The total number of bulbs sold in the given week = 12+16+8+10+14+8+18 = 86.
As given 1 carton can hold 9 bulbs
So the number of cartons required to hold 86 bulb =$\frac{86}{9}$ = 9.55 ≈ 10.
as number of catons should be an integer
Hence, 10 cartons are required to hold the bulbs.
