$\Rightarrow x=7$

$\text{(ii)}3-y=4,y=-1,1,2$
$3-y=4$
$\Rightarrow 3-y+y=4+y$
$\Rightarrow 3=4+y$
$\Rightarrow 3-4=4+y-4$
$\Rightarrow -1=y$
Hence, y = −1 is the solution of the equation.
