Expand: $$(2x+7y)^{2}$$


Solution

$${\left(2x+7y\right)}^{2}$$ is of the form $${\left(a+b\right)}^{2}={a}^{2}+{b}^{2}+2ab$$
where $$a=2x,b=7y$$
$$\therefore {\left(2x+7y\right)}^{2}={\left(2x\right)}^{2}+{\left(7y\right)}^{2}+2\times 2x\times 7y$$
$$=4{x}^{2}+49{y}^{2}+28xy$$
