Open in App
Solution

Glucose and cane sugar can be distinguished by tollens reagent orFehlings solution. Glucose is a reducing sugar whereas cane sugar is a non-reducing sugar. Glucose does not have any glycosidic linkage so it can be reduced by Fehling's reagent, but cane sugar has a glycosidic linkage and due to the absence of free CHO group, it cannot be reduced.
