Area of the figure ABCDEF = Area of trapezium ABCF + Area of trapezium FCDE

Let 'a' and 'b' be the parallel sides of the trapezium and 'h' be the height of the trapezium

Area of trapezium $=\frac{1}{2}\left(sumofparallelsides\right)\times height$

$\Rightarrow \frac{1}{2}(a+b)\times h=\frac{1}{2}(57+39)\times 28=1344c{m}^2$

Area of the figure ABCDEF = Area of trapezium ABCF + Area of trapezium FCDE

= 1344 + 1344 = 2688
