Question

Find the equation of a line passes through (1,2,3) and perpendicular to the vector (5^i3^j+4^k) and (7^i+4^j+9^k)

Open in App
Solution

Letr=x^i+y^j+2^k
passes through (1,2,3)
a=i+2^j+3^k
and direct ratio of (5^i3^j+4k) and =(7^i+4^j+9^k)
N=12^i+7^j+5^k

Then, equation of line
(ra).N=0(x^i+y^j+2^ki2^j3^k)(12^i+7^j+5^k)=0{(x1)i+(y2)^j+(z3)^k}.(12^i+7^j+5^k)=012(x1)+7(y2)+5(z3)=012x+12+7y14+5z15=012x+7y+5z17=0.
12x7y5z+17=0

Hence, this is the answer.
