Find the integral value of x such that 4x+1+7x=6

Open in App
Solution

4x+1+7x=6
4x+1=67x
Squaring both sides,
4x+1=(67x)2=36+(7x)127x
127x=36+7x4x1=425x
Again Squaring both sides
(144)(7x)2=(425x)2
144(7x)=1764+25x2420x
25x2276x+756=0
Using quadratic formula,
x=+276±(276)24(25)(756)50
x=276±761767560050=276±2450
x=30050=6 or x=25250=12625
Values of x=6,12625
x=6
