i ) It is given that ,

( 3 , a ) lies on the line 2x - 3y + 5 = 0

Substitute x = 3 , y = a in the equation

We get ,

2 × 3 - 3 a + 5 = 0

6 - 3a + 5 = 0

11 - 3a = 0

11 = 3a

11/3 = a. (answer)

i ) It is given that ,

Substitute x = 3 , y = a in the equation

We get ,

2 × 3 - 3a - 5 = 0
