If the terms are in AP, we know that 2B = A+C.
A = (5x+2)
B = (4x-1)
C = (x + 2)
2B = A + C
=> 2(4x - 1) = 5x + 2 + x + 2
=> 8x - 2 = 6x + 4
=> 8x - 6x = 4 + 2
=> 2x = 6
=> x = 3
If the terms are in AP, we know that 2B = A+C.
A = (5x+2)
B = (4x-1)
C = (x + 2)
2B = A + C
=> 2(4x - 1) = 5x + 2 + x + 2
=> 8x - 2 = 6x + 4
=> 8x - 6x = 4 + 2
=> 2x = 6
=> x = 3
