(2602x)+(y012)=(5618)

(2+y6+00+12x+2)=(5618)

(2+y612x+2)=(5618)

Equating the matrices we get the values of x and y as follows:

2+y=5y=3

2x+2=82x=6x=3

Therefore, x+y=3+3=6

Hence x+y=6.
