Since, $p (x) = x^{2} + 3 x - 4 = 0$
$\Rightarrow x^{2} + 4 x - x 4 = 0$
$\Rightarrow (x +) (x - 1) = 0$
$\Rightarrow x + 4 = 0 a n d x - 1 = 0$
$\Rightarrow x = - 4 a n d x = 1$
