Let us take each one of them.
(a) Rahul's Working time
= 10:30 to 6:45
= 10:30 to 18:45
= 8 hours 15 minutes (18 - 10 = 8 and 45 - 30 = 15)
Actual work done excluding break
= 8 hours 15 minutes - 26 minutes
26 can be written as 15 + 11
= 8 hours 15 minutes - 15 minutes - 11 minutes
= 8 hours - 11 minutes
= 7 hours 49 minutes
(b) Sooraj - Working time
= 9:15 to 5:45
= 9:15 to 17:45
Since minutes in the second time is lesser than the minutes in the first time,we will first calculate
17:45 - 9:15 = 8 hours 30 minutes (17 - 9 = 8 and 45 - 15 = 30)
