(i)No chemical reaction takes place during its formation.
(ii)Its properties are the properties of its substances that make it up.
(iii) Its constituents can be in any proportion by mass.
(iv) Its components can be separated by using physical methods.
(v) Cake is a compound because of the reasons opposite to those stated above.
