Correct Answer
A

True

Your Answer
B

False

Solution

The correct option is A

True

Flowers are the reproductive part of angiosperms. For reproduction, the pollen grains (containing the male gametes) need to be transferred into the female part of the flower (ovary) containing the egg (the female gamete). Having showy petals helps in attracting insects for pollination. When an insect visits a flower in search of nectar, pollen grains being light and sticky, stick to the body and wings of the insect.  As the insects hop from flower to flower, they end up transferring the pollen from one flower to the next enabling pollination.
