Coagulation value is the minimum concentration of electrolyte in millimoles required to cause coagulation of one litre of colloidal solution.
Here, 250 mL of Fe(OH)3 sol is coagulated by 2 mL of 1 M Na2SO4 electrolyte
For 250 mL →2 mL of 1 M Na2SO4
No of millimoles=2×1
No of millimoles=2
∴ 2 millimoles for 250 mL
For 1000 mL (1L) =4×2=8 mmol
∴ Coagulation Value = 8
