Question

Four added to twice a number yields $$\frac { 26 } { 5 } ,$$ Find the fraction.

Solution

Let the required fraction be $$x$$
According to the question,
$$\Rightarrow$$  $$4+2x=\dfrac{26}{5}$$
$$\Rightarrow$$  $$20+10x=26$$
$$\Rightarrow$$  $$10x=26-20$$
$$\Rightarrow$$  $$10x=6$$
$$\Rightarrow$$  $$x=\dfrac{6}{10}$$
$$\therefore$$  $$x=\dfrac{3}{5}$$
$$\therefore$$   The required fraction is $$\dfrac{3}{5}$$.
