give a brief description about the evolution of phloem from primitive to present?

Primitive sieve elements are long and slender with minute pores forming scattered sieve areas with oblique end walls. Companion cells were absent in gymnosperms but later on angiosperms are with companion cells. Primitive phloem are with thin walls.
