It is easier to stop a tennis ball as compared to a cricket ball, When both are travelling with the same velocity.

Solution

  1. As we know that the mass of a cricket ball is greater than the mass of a tennis ball.
  2. The momentum of the object is given as P=m×v Where, m = mass, v = velocity.
  3. From the above equation, we can say that for the same velocity mass is greater momentum will be greater.
  4. When we are stopping the balls it means that we are changing the momentum of the balls and if the momentum is more change in momentum is also more and so the force is also more.
  5. Hence more force is required to stop a cricket ball.
