Differences between Lyophilic colloids and Lyophobic colloids.
Lyophilic colloids Lyophobic colloids
(1) Substances which can on shaking with dispersion medium eg. water form colloids rapidly are called lyophilic colloids.
(2) Viscosity is higher than that of dispersion medium (Solvent).
(1) Substances which do not form colloided system with dispersion medium easily are called lyophobic colloids.
(2) Viscosity is equal to that of dispersion medium.
