Solution

(a) Water at room temperature is a liquid because it boils at 373 K and the room temperature is nearly 20C25C.

The solidification point is 0C It will remain in a liquid state.

It does not have a definite shape but has a definite volume at room temperature.

So these are properties of a liquid state.

(b) An iron almirah is a solid at room temperature because it has a definite shape and definite volume.

So the properties mentioned are satisfied by the solid-state only.
