During the process of reproduction, the events that lead to pregnancy are as follows.
At puberty, the ovary releases a mature egg into the oviduct, this egg is fertilized by a sperm within the oviduct. After fertilization the egg forms the zygote. The zygote under goes divisions as it is pushed towards the uterus. The zygote in its 16 celled or 32 celled stage is embedded in the thickened uterine wall.
