Solution

The correct option is C Statement I is true but statement II is false
+7KMnO4573K−−+6K2MnO4+MnO2+O2
Diamagnetic Potassium Manganate
one unpaired electron
(Paramagnetic)

The outer electronic configuration of Mn is 3d54s2
In KMnO4, Mn is in +7 oxidation state so it will be diamagnetic.
In K2MnO4, Mn is in +6 oxidation state so it will have one unpaired electron so it will become paramagnetic.

Both KMnO4 and K2MnO4 are tetrahedral in shape.
Hence, (c) is the correct answer.
