Unicellular life forms dependably replicate by asexual reproduction; like binary fission, multiple fission, budding, sporulation etc.Multicellular forms, utilize both asexual and sexual strategies for reproduction.
Reproduction by asexual method is preferred by unicellular organisms as it comparatively faster, requires lesser energy expenditure and a large number of individuals can be formed when nutrient material is abundant.
Example, bacteria, Yeast etc
Multicellular organisms like certain invertebrates, cryptogams, fungi and higher plants reproduce both by asexual and sexual reproduction. However, asexual reproduction is completely absent in multicellular vertebrates.
Here, asexual reproduction takes place through fragmentation -Spirogyra, Liverworts etc, regeneration -flat worms, budding Hydra, Spores - fungi etc

Each species needs to continually struggle for its survival. Characteristic predators and forces of nature continue expelling a huge segment of the number of inhabitants in a specific animal type. In addition, the normal cycle of life and death additionally expels a segment of the population. Reproduction is an approach to recharge the lost segment of population. In this manner , one might say that reproduction is connected to the soundness of population of a species.
