The motion of an object along a circular path is termed as circular motion whereas motion along a straight line is termed as rectilinear motion.

The wheel of a moving bicycle follows circular as well as rectilinear motion whereas the blade of a moving electric fan shows only circular motion. Hence, the mark on the fan will possess circular motion, whereas the motion of the wheel undergoes both rectilinear and circular motion.
