Open in App
Solution

Vaccination is the administration of antigenic material to stimulate an individual's immune system to develop adaptive immunity to a pathogen. It is a procedure to increase your immunity.
Our body has denfence mechanism i.e, when a foreign material like bacteria enters our body, the cells in our body react to kill them by producing certain chemicals.Vaccination is based on this principle.
Vaccines are partially killed viruses or bacteria which will not cause us disease. When we inject vaccine, our body will try to react and produce certain chemicals. These chemicals will be stored and used when we will be really attacked by that particular pathogen.
e.g.If you are vaccinated by polio virus, you will not be affected by polio virus.
There are different vaccines against different viruses and bacteria.
