wt . of carbon in 0.5 carat = 0.5 $\times$ 200 $\times$ 10^-3 gm
= 0.1 gm
now as we know that 12 gm of carbon have 6.02 $\times$ 10²³ no. of carbon atoms
therefore 0.1 gm of carbon have 0.5 $\times$ 10²² no. of carbon atoms
with regards.
