Question

How many cubic meters of earth must be dug-out to sink a well 21 m deep and 6 m diameter?

Solution

volume of the well=volume of earth that must be dug out
$$=>πr^2h$$
$$=\dfrac {22} 7\times 3 \times 3 \times 21$$  ..........   $$\because r=\dfrac 6 2=3$$
$$=22\times 27$$
$$=594\ m^3$$
