Question

How will you obtain FeCO3 by FeCl3?

Solution

First, get the iron (Fe) from the solution using displacement reaction by aluminium.(aluminium is more reactive than Fe)
FeCl3(aq)+Al(s)AlCl3(aq)+Fe(s)
The Fe obtained is reacted with H2CO3 acid to give FeCO3
Fe(s)+H2CO3(aq)FeCO3(aq)+H2(g).
