The correct option is A Rs 3725

Let money invested at 5% be Rs x.
$\therefore \frac{x\times 1\times 5}{100}+\frac{(10000-x)\times 1\times 8}{100}=688.25\Rightarrow 5x-8x+8000=68,825\Rightarrow 3x=11,175\Rightarrow x=Rs3725$
Hence, option (a) is the answer.
