Solution

The correct option is C King Gyanendra
Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev was born on 7 July, 1947, in Kathmandu, Nepal. He was the brother of the then ruling monarch, King Birendra Bikram Shah Dev. Gyanendra ascended to the throne after Birendra was murdered and Crown Prince Dipendra committed suicide. He dissolved the parliament in October 2002 and appointed a series of Prime Ministers without conducting elections. In February 2005, he removed the Prime Minister, dissolved the cabinet, and undertook absolute power. Thereafter, the people of Nepal supported by a seven-party alliance and Maoist insurgents demanded the restoration of democracy. Their demands were fully met by King Gyanendra on 24 April, 2006.
