Identify parts 1 – 4
1–cerebellum, 2–cerebrum, 3–pons, 4–medulla
The human brain is divided into these four parts each having its own unique function. Cerebrum forms the major part of the human brain. It is involved in thought and action. The cerebellum coordinates voluntary movements such as posture, balance, coordination and speech, resulting in smooth and balanced muscular activity. Pons consist of fibre tracts that interconnect different regions of the brain. The medulla contains centres which control respiration, cardiovascular reflexes and gastric secretions.
