If 52x+1÷25=125, find the value of x.

We have, 52x+1÷25=125

52x+1×125=125

52x+1=125×25 [125=53 and 25=52]

52x+1=53×52

52x+1=55 [Using the identity,am×an=am+n]

2x+1=5

[if base is same, then exponent will be equal on both sides of equal sign]

2x=51=4

2x=4

x=42=2

Hence, x=2
